Aphrodisias, which used to be a small ancient Greek Hellenistic city, is located near the modern village of Geyre in southwestern Anatolia, Turkey. This ancient city takes its name from Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love.

-Sebasteion
The Sebasteion was a magnificent temple dedicated to Aphrodite and the Julio-Claudian emperors. Its construction started the reign of Tiberius AD 20 and was completed by the emperor Nero in AD 20.
-Theater
The theater was constructed in the second half of the first century B.C. The theatre used to have an 8,000 audience capacity and was used for entertainment, meetings, and demos.
-Agora
This colonnaded agora was the commercial center of the city. The agora was constructed in marble architectural style and is one of the first samples of the late Hellenistic city plan.
-Hadrian Baths
The Hadrianic Baths were built in the second century AD and dedicated to the Roman emperor Hadrian.
-Bishop Palace
The house was used as the residence of the provincial governor and later became the private residence of the bishop in late antiquity.
-Temple of Aphrodite
Even though the cult dates back to earlier times, the remains we see today started to be built in the 1st century B.C. and was completed during the reign of Augustus.
-Odeon
The Odeon is a semicircular construction that has 12 tiered rows of seats. The stage and orchestra were decorated with mosaics. This building was used for shows, celebrations, and as the Bouleterion for the meetings of the Senate.
-Stadium
The Stadium had a capacity of 30,000 audiences and was used for athletic contests such as discus, javelin throwing, wrestling, foot races, long-jumping, and also gladiatorial combats and wild-beast fights during the festivals held in honour of the Roman emperors.
-Tetraphylon
This monumental columnar construction was used as the entrance to the sanctuary of Aphrodite.
